Most task tools are project-management tools that start small. This one is a to-do list that stays a to-do list: two states — open and done — and one flat list per workspace. There is no configurable status column, no workflow, no burndown.
What it does have is the part people actually use every day. Type "pay the invoice friday p1 @admin" and the date, the priority and the label come out of the line. There is a board when a list is not enough, a detail panel, and search across everything.
Assignees come from the workspace directory rather than a copy of it, so a person appears in the picker because they are in the workspace, and nowhere else has to be told when that changes.
